Trump Defends Bringing in Hundreds of Thousands of Foreign Students to Protect HBCUs

Trump confirms that importing hundreds of thousands of foreign students, particularly from China, is a 'MAGA' position, stating that it's necessary; otherwise, 'historically Black' colleges and universities would go out of business.. The Fox News host Laura Ingraham, known for her strong support of Trump, is dumbfounded.
In an interview aired on The Ingraham Angle on Laura Ingraham’s show, Trump defended allowing very large numbers of foreign students (particularly from China) to study in U.S. colleges & universities.
He argued that reducing these students — “cutting half of the people, half of the students from all over the world that are coming into our country … destroy our entire university and college system” — would lead many institutions to close.
He explicitly mentioned that many schools — including “historically Black colleges and universities” (HBCUs) — would “go out of business” if foreign student enrollments were halved.
He framed this policy as aligned with his “Make America Great Again (MAGA)” political brand: “I know what MAGA wants better than anybody else… MAGA wants to see our country thrive.”
He emphasized the business / revenue side: foreign students typically pay higher tuition / bring in trillions of dollars to the U.S. system.
